Monday, April 6

1118: An officer responded to a call from an Elmwood Ave. resident about a small dog in her yard. An officer found a puppy and returned it to the owner.

1224: An officer responded to a report of persons playing with their dogs running loose at the high school baseball field. The dog owners told the officer they were playing fetch with their dogs, but would keep their dogs on leashes.

1420: A caller reported that she had just visited her ex- to pick up some belongings at his house when he assaulted her. The caller, who had returned to Newton, was advised to come back to Winthrop to file a report, but she said that her ex- does drugs and she does not want to see him get into trouble.

1738: An officer responded to a report of a large group congregating on Grandview Ave., possibly to watch the sunset. The persons were members of a car club and they agreed to disperse.

1817: A caller reported that motor vehicles without parking stickers were parked in the area of Shore Drive and Locust St. The caller was informed that the town’s parking by-laws do not take effect until 1:00 am.

1702: A caller reported that when she drives to work at 4:30 every morning on Revere St., another motor vehicle operator tailgates her. She was informed that the next shift will be informed of the situation.

2243: An officer stopped a motor vehicle operator on Winthrop St. for operating without headlights. The operator turned on his headlights and was given a warning.

Tuesday, April 7

0943: A Dolphin Ave. resident reported that a laptop had been stolen from his motor vehicle.

1027: A Governor’s Drive resident reported that the upstairs neighbor is making loud noises in her apartment. The call was logged in.

1107: A caller reported that a sailboat that had been stranded on Snake Island now was adrift with the high tide and heading toward the public landing. The harbormaster was notified.

1136: A caller reported a case of identity theft and that a credit card had been opened in her name.

1155: Officers responded to a motor vehicle accident at Sea View and Vine Aves. and assisted the parties with the exchange of papers.

1306: A person came to the station to report a past assault & battery.

1330: An officer responded to a report of about 20 kids playing in Coughlin Park. The youths were informed of the current rules and were told to move along.

1442: Officers responded to a report of youths playing basketball at the Pond St. playground. The youths were advised of the current rules and the Fire Dept. was on the scene to tie up the basketball nets.

1523: Officers responded to a report of a group of people at Hannaford Park and advised them of the rules about social distancing.

1531: Officers responded to a report of motor vehicles parked on the sidewalk on Trident Ave. He found the owners, who had parked there because parking along Shore Drive is closed for parking, and told them to move their vehicles.

1751: An officer stopped a motor vehicle on Walden St. for speeding and gave the operator a warning.

1826: State Police were called to respond to a report of motor vehicles parked illegally at the entrance to Deer Island.

Wednesday, April 8

1804: An officer issued a warning to a motor vehicle operator for a red light violation at McGee’s Corner.

Thursday, April 9

2015: A caller reported that an Irish Setter was running loose on Revere St. 

Friday, April 10

0708: A boat owner reported that his outboard motor had been stolen from his boat that was stored at the boat yard on Pleasant Ct.

1034: An officer responded to a report of a syringe on Temple Ave. The officer brought it back to the station.

1454: An officer on a detail at Park and Crystal Cove Aves. will be issuing a citation for a civil motor vehicle infraction to an operator who passed by her work site.

1526: An officer responded to a report of an unleashed dog at Coughlin Park. He informed the owner of the town’s leash laws.

1618: Officers responded to a report of an issue between neighbors on Wave Way Ave. and spoke to both parties.

Saturday, April 11

0652: Officers responded to a report of a motor vehicle accident involving two cars in the 500 block of Winthrop St. No personal injuries were reported.

0814: Officers responded to a report of a loose dog on Lowell Rd. headed toward the Centre. The officers were unable to locate the dog.

1253: A Woodside Ave. business owner reported that someone had illegally used his dumpster. An officer responded and was able to locate the perpetrator, who agreed to remove the items he had dumped illegally.

1414: An officer responded to a report of a group of 15-20 persons sitting on lawn chairs in the parking lot of the cemetery on Kennedy Rd. The officer dispersed the group.

1432: An officer dispersed two youths from the skate park at Ingleside Park.

1458: A caller reported that she was knocked over by a German Shepherd that she believed was going after her dog. The incident occurred on Elliot St. The officer who responded said he would try to make contact with the owner of the German Shepherd. The officer did so two days later and informed the owner to control his dog.

1503: An officer responded to a report of a large group at the public landing. All of the parties were in their cars and were observing social distancing.

Sunday, April 12

0013: Officers responded to a report of a person yelling while running up and down Revere St. The person said he was upset with his mother and was headed toward his sister’s house.

0708: An officer stopped a motor vehicle operator for speeding on Main St. and gave the operator a verbal warning.

1036: A caller reported that his dog had killed a skunk. The Animal Control Officer informed the owner that his dog will need a booster shot for rabies.

1436: An officer dispersed a group that had assembled at Coughlin Playground.

1820: An officer dispersed a group of eight youths who were playing street hockey at Coughlin Playground.

Monday, April 13

0232: An officer directed a person playing music loudly in his motor vehicle on Trident Ave. to go in for the evening.

0758: An officer responded to a report of a motor vehicle blocking a driveway on Sea Foam Ave. The owner was contacted and moved her vehicle.
