Joseph Dalton

Retired Massport Facilities Supervisor

Joseph M. “Joe” Dalton of Winthrop passed away on April 12. He was 77 years old.

The beloved husband of the late Janice M. (Corso) Dalton, he was born in Winthrop,  the cherished son of the late Elmer David and Florence (Capobianco) Dalton.

Prior to his retirement, Joe was the Supervisor of Facilities at Massport. He was an avid golfer and was a member of the Winthrop Golf Club. Joe loved and enjoyed carpentry and working with wood. He was proud of the many projects he built and refurbished.

Joseph was the devoted father of Cheryl A. Barker and her husband, James and Kim M. Hayes and her husband. William. all of Winthrop;  the adored grandfather of Lindsey, Jimmy and Justin Barker and Henry, Joseph and Billy Hayes; dear brother of Edward Dalton of Revere, Johanna Guerin and her late husband, Robert of Lowell, David Dalton and his late wife, Sue of Haverhill and Ann Marie Dalton and her spouse, Kathy DelGreco of Westford. Joe is also survived by many nieces and nephews. 

Due to the current CDC guidelines, funeral arrangements will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory can be made to the Alzheimer’s Assn. 309 Waverly Oaks Rd, Waltham, MA. 02452 or to the Lighthouse Nursing Care Center/Patient Activities Fund 204 Proctor Ave. Revere, MA. 02151. Ernest Serino

U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II

Ernest Serino, in Winthrop, formerly of East Boston, died on April 9, 2020. 

A US Navy veteran of World War II, he was the beloved husband of the late Kathleen L. (Burrows), father of Kathleen Milward and her husband, Wayne, grandfather of Kayla and Eric Wright, brother of Anthony Serino and his wife, Marie and six deceased siblings. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and his dear friend, Rita D’Amato.

Donations in Ernie’s memory to either the NortheastAnimalShelter.org or DoctorsWithoutBorders.org would be appreciated.
