Adult

Tuesday, March 3, 17 and 31, 11:30 a.m. : Tech Drop-In – Afternoon Sessions

Tuesday, March 10 and 24, 5:30 p.m. : Tech Drop-In – Evening Sessions

On Tuesdays, we offer free basic computer help and assistance with library resources. Come by and work with staff on: basic computer skills, ereaders and mobile devices, web searching, email, library resources (Overdrive, Gale Databases, Ancestry.com, and more). Wednesday, March 4, 10:30 a.m.: Mystery Book Club

WPL&M Mystery Book Club continues with the current theme: “No Substitute for Experience.” The next book will be Dancing in the Dark by Mary Jane Clark and Alafair Burke. View the full 2019-2020 list.

Saturday, March 7, 14, 21, and 28, 10:30 a.m.: Baby Portrait Drawing

This eight-week course will make you the artistic envy of family, friends, and neighbors! Basic face sketching, establishing and mastering facial proportions, skin toning, hair texture, and facial expression will be developed week by week.

Saturday, March 7, 14, 21, and 28, 12:00 p.m.: Creative Writing

This eight-week course will focus on expressive writing in many different forms of original writing

Tuesday, March 24, 6 p.m. : Author Talk – Barbara Berenson

Barbara Berenson, author of Massachusetts in the Woman Suffrage Movement: Revolutionary Reformers, will discuss the woman suffrage movement and give local suffragists the attention they deserve. Massachusetts was at the center of the national struggle for woman suffrage. Berenson will also address the battle over historical memory that long obscured the state’s leading role.

Wednesday, March 26, 6:30 p.m. : You, Me, and Them Book Club

This book group hopes to facilitate discussion about social values using popular literature. This month’s book is Motherhood So White by Nefertiti Austin. 

Wednesday, March 26, 6:30 p.m. : Choice at the end of life: A talk on medical aid in dying

This year the MA Legislature will consider a bill to allow medical aid in dying to competent, terminally-ill individuals in MA. This end-of-life option is now allowed in 9 state and DC. Two volunteers who have worked to advance this legislation will talk about the longstanding effort to improve care and expand options.

Tuesday, March 31, 6 p.m.: Tech Tuesday: Practical Apps

Join us for this hands-on course and get more use out of your smartphone or tablet. Participants must bring a smartphone or tablet to class and already be familiar with the basics of using it.

Teens and Tweens

Wednesday, March 4 and 18, 3 p.m.: Lego Club

Lego Club is on the first and third Wednesday of every month in the Hazlett Room.

 Kids

Monday, March 2, 9, 16, 25 and 30, 10:30 a.m.: Toddler Craft Time

Toddlers can join us every Monday for a craft project.

Wednesday, March 4, 11, 18 and 25, 10:30 a.m.: Little Wiggles

Clap your hands, stomp your feet & wiggle with the beat! This is a high-energy music and movement program where your children will be wiggling and giggling throughout. Ages 2-5 years.

Wednesday, March 4 and 18, 3 p.m.: Lego Club

Lego Club is on the first and third Wednesday of every month in the Hazlett Room.

Friday, March 6, 13, 20 and 27, 10:30 a.m. : Storytime – Infants & Toddlers

Friday, March 6, 13, 20 and 27, 11:30 a.m. : Storytime – Preschoolers

Storytime is every Friday in the Children’s Room.
