WHS Class Of 1966 Reunion

The Winthrop High School Class of 1966 recently held their 53rd class reunion at the Winthrop Arms. The Class of ‘66 holds their reunions every year, but have taken to calling them birthday parties; this most recent gathering was their 71st birthday party. Prior to the reunion, several members of the class met at the American Legion Hall on Hermon Street to help assemble mini-care packages for our men and women serving overseas with the United States Military. They filled well over 100 mini care packages, which will be sent to troops in Iraq, Korea, Africa, Poland, Japan, Afghanistan and other places and Navy ships all over the world. As members of the Class of 1966, many of them either served in Vietnam or knew someone that served in Vietnam. Several of the classmates paid the ultimate sacrifice. “All gave some; some gave all.” The day was dedicated to them.
