Ann Marie MacMullen

Continental Airlines Retiree

Ann Marie (Jagello) MacMullen of Winthrop passed peacefully on Sunday, Sept. 29 after a long illness at the age of 77.

Ann was born in Boston on Oct. 4, 1941 to the late James P. and Mary C. (Holerick) Jagiello. She graduated from Monsignor Ryan Memorial High School in 1959. On Sept. 30, 1961, she married and after some time, moved to Winthrop where she happily lived for many years. Ann actually loved to be out in the work field having been employed by Koplow Trimming, Eastern Airlines and then retiring from Continental Airlines in 2012.

Travel, especially to Aruba, was one of Ann’s joys. Getting together and

keeping in touch with her friends and family also kept her busy.

Ann was the devoted wife of the late Robert B. MacMullen, loving mother of Carolann Vasconcelos and her husband, Ved of Milton, Paul MacMullen and his wife, Barbara, Diane MacMullen-Knanfi and her husband, Mo and Scot MacMullen and Audrey Inkiarto, all of Winthrop. She was the beloved Nana of Jennifer,

Amanda, Nicholas, Lauren, Christopher, William and Marissa; dear sister of the late Sr. Marion Jagiello, Jeanne Varney and Dorothy Jagello. Ann is survived by her brother-in- law Tom Varney, sister-in-law, Karen McMullen, brother-in-law, David McMullen, brother-in-law, Kenneth McMullen and his wife, Patti and many nieces and nephews.

Her funeral will be held from the Maurice W. Kirby Funeral Home, 210 Winthrop St., Winthrop, on Friday, Oct. 4 at 9 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in St. John the Evangelist Church-Winthrop at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited. Interment will be in Winthrop Cemetery (Belle Isle Section). Kathleen Ann Von Starkloff

She Bestowed Great Love on All Who Surrounded Her

Kathleen Anne Von Starkloff passed away after a short illness on Wednesday, Sept. 25.

Kathleen is survived by her adoring husband, Edwin Charles Kelly; her stepdaughters, Laurie Kelly of Omaha, Doreen Kelly-Carney of Cambridge, and Erin Kelly-Makol of Newton and her grandchildren, Tess, Hanna, Ryan and Abby, as well as by her sister, Rebecca (Starkloff) Busselle and brother-in-law, Sam Busselle, their children and families.

Until the end she affirmed her love of life as with her loving family she listened to her favorite movie, The Umbrellas of Cherbourg. The twinkling lights that a granddaughter brought to adorn her hospital room reflected her eternal spirit. She bestowed great love on all who surrounded her.

Friends are invited to celebrate Kathleen’s Life on Saturday, Oct. 5 with a Funeral Mass in St. John the Evangelist in Winthrop at 9:30 a.m. Please go directly to the church. Burial will follow in the Belle Isle  Section of Winthrop Cemetery and at a nearby casual gathering following the cemetery to share remembrances.
