WCAT Names Studio for Ron Moses

The WCAT Board of Directors recently voted to name the television station’s main production studio after longtime member and past-president Ron Moses. Ron has been an active producer with WCAT since 1994, when he signed up for the production course with his wife Elinor. He has been a Board member for over 20 years, serving as President for three terms, totaling 18 years. He is currently a member of the 2019 Board, serving as Treasurer and also Chair of the scholarship committee.

Besides producing many programs throughout his years as a producer, Ron also donated selfless hours of volunteer time to help with the many fundraising efforts in support of WCAT, including the Squash Raffle, the annual BBQ, Treasures In Your Attic and others. You could always find Ron and Elinor selling Squash Raffle tickets at Michael’s Mall on those cold November mornings.

In 2004, Ron was instrumental in securing the funding the station desperately needed to build the current studio, allowing staff and volunteers to eventually move out of the make-shift studio in the basement and into the newly renovated state-of-the-art production facility on the main floor of the old Christian Science Church located at 165 Winthrop St. Thanks to Ron’s commitment and initiative, WCAT has continued to thrive for over 33 years.
