No Smoking on Beaches
Dear Editor,
The June 27, 2019 Winthrop Sun Transcript front-page article, “Local Smoking Regulations to be Testedâ€, incorrectly cites the town’s regulation, effective May 1, 2019.
Corrections:
• Smoking is prohibited on all Town beaches, not just Yirrell and Donovan
• Vaping is prohibited wherever smoking is prohibited
• Smoking is prohibited within 25 feet of an entrance to municipal buildings accessible to the public
• Smoking is prohibited in bus shelters and waiting areas
• The fine is $25 for each violation by a person
