Strawberry Festival Set for June 15

The Winthrop Improvement & Historical Association (WIHA) announced that this year’s Strawberry Festival will be held on Saturday, June 15, from 3-6 pm on the grounds of the historic Deane Winthrop House at 40 Shirley St. The ticket price is $8, when purchased in advance, or $10 at the door.

WIHA’s signature event dates back to 1912 and is an opportunity for the Town to enjoy a true Winthrop gem, the first-period Deane Winthrop House and Gardens.  For the price of a ticket, guests will enjoy homemade strawberry shortcake, the sounds of a Country and Western duo, and a tour of the historic 375-year old Deane Winthrop House.

And it would not be a WIHA event without having fun activities for the kids!

Tickets are available at Brown’s Pharmacy, Shirley Hardware, Woodside Hardware, Winthrop Public Library, Salon Luxo, and Webster First Federal Credit Union. For more information, please visit the official Winthrop Improvement & Historical Association Facebook page or phone (617) 846-8606.

Special thanks to Paul W. Marks Company and to the Winthrop Market Place for donating the delicious strawberries and biscuits.
