Development Proposal Goes to ZBA April 25

Next Thursday, April 25 the Zoning Board of Appeals will hold a public hearing on a proposed 20-unit housing development at 213 Shirley St.

The owner Michael Ferrara and KBM Capital LLC are seeking a permit to demolish the existing building and construct a five-story, midrise apartment building to contain 20 residential dwelling units. A special permit and variance will be needed by the ZBA.

The permit was originally denied by the Winthrop Building Department for the following reasons: noncompliance of minimum lot area, unit density, front setback, left and right setback, rear setback, lot coverage, and off-street parking requirements.

A copy of the plans can be found in the Town Clerk’s office.
