Student Highlight- Senior Excels Inside and Outside the Classroom

Over the past four years, Caroline Zuffante has maintained her award-winning status in both academics and athletics at Winthrop High School. Having received the President’s Award every year, while being recognized as the most valuable player for high school swimming for two of those years, the 18-year-old is primed for a successful future.

In addition to maintaining her spot in the top 3 percent of her class, Zuffante has received awards in English, Math, and Art. While her grades are top notch, she manages to stay active in a variety of other school activities. The talented senior is the vice president of the National Honors Society and an active member of student council, the math club, STEM club, and outdoors club. She runs high school cross country track and volunteers at the Winthrop Arbors Assisted Living in her spare time. 

What is your favorite subject?

My favorite subject is environmental science, as I love looking at sustainability and conservation and how we as humans impact our planet.

Who is your role model?

My role models would have to be both of my parents. They work very hard to give me a great life and encourage me to do what I love while also helping me succeed.

Do you have any college/career goals?

I plan to continue my career as a swimmer in college at a liberal arts school. I love swimming and cannot picture myself not swimming in my future because I have been doing it for so long, since I was around 5 years old. As of now, I am unsure of what I want to major in, but I know that I want to continue something that involves some aspect of science.
