Winthrop Officials Issue Guidelines Regarding State 911 Outage

Fire Chief Paul E. Flanagan and Police Chief Terence M. Delehanty report that the Massachusetts state 911 system is currently experiencing intermittent interruption of service related to problems with a nationwide internet service provider. This is a national problem also impacting most of Massachusetts, including here in Winthrop.

As a result, residents are temporarily urged contact the police or fire department for assistance by dialing the following direct numbers:

Police Emergencies: 617-846-1212

 Fire and Medical Emergencies: 617-846-3473 

 Motorists or those on state property/highways needing State Police assistance can also call the following State Police emergency call centers:

New Braintree Control PSAP 508-867-1170

Northampton Control PSAP 413-586-1508

Framingham PSAP 508-820-2121.
