Student Highlight:Sydney Mignosa is Her Own Competition

Sometimes you don’t have to go too far to find your role model. For 16-year-old Sydney Mignosa, inspiration comes from her parents. The active junior has learned from her mother and father, that striving to be the best version of yourself is the ultimate source of motivation and inspiration that one can have.

“My parents have always taught me to be the best version of myself every single day,” said Mignosa, who has a long and well-rounded list of activities. Her success in the classroom and in the athletic realm, is proof that being your own biggest cheerleader and competitor is the best thing you can do to better yourself on all levels.

What school activities are you involved in?

I am videographer on the executive board for student council at Winthrop High School, I play on the varsity soccer team, the varsity hockey team, and the tennis team.

What is your favorite subject?

My favorite subject in school would be art or English because you get to express yourself in your both words and visuals.

What are your future goals?

I would love to attend UMass Amherst for a nursing program because I want to be a pediatric nurse after I graduate.
