Eighth Grader Thanks the Many Teachers Who Have Guided Him along the Way

Christian Buonopane has already seen his fair share of positive influences, as he credits not just one teacher but several, as being his favorite.

At only 14-years-old, Buonopane is showing signs of being multi-talented in a broad array of activities and subjects. The middle schooler plays soccer and is a member of the STEM Club, Drama Club and Student Council. He is also a member of Winthrop Middle School’s Select and Advance Bands, going on his fifth year playing the saxophone.

Do you have one favorite teacher?

That’s a tough question because I’ve had so many amazing teachers since starting school.  Some of my favorites have been Mrs. Wyson, Mrs. Sullivan, Mrs. Turner, Mr. Kirby, Mrs. Carsley, Mr.  Durkee and Mr. Farnsworth. Another one of my favorites is Ms. Gallagher, our WMS Student Council Advisor.  Also, I can’t forget to mention that I’ve had two awesome principals, Mr. Curley and Mrs. Pearson.

What is your favorite subject?

I would say my two favorite subjects are science and civics.  In science, we get to do a lot of hands-on activities and experiments, which is fun.  I love civics because I really enjoy learning about how the government works.

Any goals for the future?

When I grow up, I would like to be an attorney.  I would also like to become involved in government.
