Police Blotter 08-30-2018

Monday, Aug. 20

Calling party on Somerset Avenue states that she has not spoken to her elderly aunt in three weeks. Would like a well-being check on her. Made contact with the party and she was sleeping.

Report of a stray cat on Faun Bar Avenue. Caller states that people have been feeding it. She tried to put it in a cage and was bitten. She did go to the doctors and they suggested the cat be caught and tested for rabies. This was referred to ACO.

Report of suspicious activity at Pico Playground. Caller states that there are three males in their underwear sleeping in the playground. Three male parties from Quebec who pitched a tent for the evening, but they are packing it up.

Unit off on Revere Street with a dog running in and out of traffic. A neighbor came out and took possession of the dog.

Party called from Summit Avenue and she was concerned about her neighbor. Unit doing a well-being check. A dog was brought home to this address and the house was questionable for a dog. Will be notifying ACO.

92 was being flagged down by a party stating that her house at Charles Street and Shore Drive was broken into. 93 reports one in custody for assault and battery and possession of a Class A drug.

Party on Pearl Avenue states that two Pitbulls came charging at her and her dog. She states that this is an ongoing issue. Officer will have ACO follow up with the dogs.

Report of a maroon Honda stuck in wet cement on Winthrop Street. G&J was contacted for hook. The car’s back tires are completely submerged in the wet cement. DPW was contacted to get a detail there to cone off and block the area.

Party came to the station to report a suspicious situation regarding repairs done to his son’s boat. All actions described appear to e civil at this time. Party took a victim/witness statement to fill out and copies were made of his invoices i the event that court action becomes necessary.

Caller states that parents of kids are screaming at each other in the basketball courts at Ingleside Park. It was verbal in nature. Parents were arguing. 93 is going to talk to the other set of parents.

Party on Jefferson Street wishes to speak to an officer regarding multiple small children running around. She attempted to speak to the parents, but there was a language barrier. K9 states the party needs to speak to the landlord.

 

Tuesday, Aug. 21

Report of a loud dog barking on Circuit Road. It was left outside. Everything was quiet when officer went to the area to check.

Party states there is a red truck illegally parked in a driveway on Hutchinson Street, and the party is arguing with a neighbor. 91, and 93 report that the vehicle has moved.

Party who works for a landscaping company is trying to cut down some branches on a tree on Wheelock Street. A neighbor is giving him a hard time. He is requesting a police officer to come down. The situation was resolved.

A warrant was served to subject on Fremont Street. One in custody.

Party came to the station to report fraudulent claims made in his name via his PayPal in the amounts of $2423.40 and $842.57. He contacted PayPal, and they froze his account and are conducting an investigation.

Caller from earlier call from Lincoln Street came to the station to report that his daughter’s stolen bicycle was in the possession of a neighbor. Officers responded to the location to attempt to retrieve the bicycle. The bike was retrieved from the neighbor’s house and peace was restored between the neighbors.

A hit-and-run motor vehicle accident with no injuries at Shirley Street and Tafts Avenue. Vehicle owner is away and unreachable on vacation.  It is unknown if the damages are old or new. The neighbor who is watching the vehicle for the owner noticed and called. Will wait for the owner to return and if the damage is new, then will file a report.

Malden PD requesting notification if party is home on Almont Street to have them call the Malden PD. Officer spoke to family members. They said they will contact party and give him the message.

 

Wednesday, Aug. 22

Caller on Winthrop Street reports there a couple of men  asking for money and liquor. When units arrived, nothing was showing.

Party on Charles Street states she is a neighbor and she noticed that the front door of another house is wide open and a few hours ago it was secured and closed. Units state it was the landlord’s son.

Female subject came to the station to report that she has been trying to get into her mother’s house on Read Street to retrieve some of her personal items, but the mother won’t answer the door. Subject stated she will contact us when she speaks to her mother and the mother allows her to pick up the belongings.

Report of 22-year-old female, possibly OD at Governors Park. Fire en route. 93 reports female voluntarily going to the MGH.

Motor vehicle accident with no injury on Revere Street. 93 reports one party waiting for AAA.

Report that male party is watching kids skateboard at Ingleside Park. He is in a red pickup. 91 reports subject left upon his arrival. Caller will notify PD if he comes back.

93 served a subpoena to subject on Winthrop Street. It was served in hand.

Motor vehicle accident involving several vehicles at Washington Avenue and River Road. 93 request s two tows. 93 also reports two car motor vehicle with injuries. One car into a bush and one car into a pole. G&J on scene with two tows. Subject with warrant has different birthday on his license from the one in CJIS, but same social and address. Both parties refused medical. Transporting male party to headquarters with warrant arrest.

Caller on Bayview Avenue stated that twenty minutes ago she witnessed a male party walking out of a house with a bag in his hand. She feels something is not right. The residents are not at home. K9 stated that he spoke to the caller and there is no sign of forced entry. He did a walk around the property. It was possibly a friend of the owner retrieving something.

Thursday, Aug. 23

Report of a 50-year-old male in front Governors Drive holding himself up by the pole at the bus stop. Caller is concerned for his well-being. Units cleared, nothing showing.

Gentleman came to the station to report an attempted fraud. The gentleman explained that the person on the phone tried to get his MasterCard information. When the attempted fraud was discovered, the gentleman cancelled the Master Card and reported the matter to us at the station. The phone number from where the call originated is 1-888-870-2194.

91 was flagged down by two parties stating that the other parties wanted to fight them. 92 off on Myrtle Avenue and 91 is off on Lincoln and Winthrop streets. 91 spoke to the mom and she was not cooperative to unit. Able to locate involved parties and will write a report and refer it to the SRO.

 

Friday, Aug. 24

Caller on Locust Way states there is vehicle parked on the wrong side and a fire truck could not get down. Street is passable with no posted signs.

Several motor vehicle tires were slashed on Ocean Avenue. A report to follow.

Motor vehicle accident with parked vehicle on Hermon Street. Accident report to follow.

Report of a white vehicle in the area of municipal park on Putnam Place with a male and female possibly drinking in the car. Officer checked the area with nothing showing.

Caller on Locust Street state there is a white male walking up and down the street acting suspiciously looking at houses and cars. 92 off with the male party. Nothing found in the house or CJIS for male party. 92 reports the male is getting his ID from his home. After checking in-house with different first name spelling, the subject was found in CJIS with negative warrants.

Party states a black SUV is speeding down River Road towards Washington Avenue. Four occupants yelling obscenities. 91 states that River Road is empty. Nothing showing in the area. Unit will keep an eye out.

Report of a suspicious male on Locust Street yelling. Same party that police were with on the earlier call in the same area. 91 on the scene. 92 and 93 responding. 91 reports male is fine, doing nothing wrong. 92 reports this was a different male from the previous call. The caller was worried as there were kids in the street. 92 stayed in the area for a while, then cleared.

91 states that he was flagged down by citizen stating suspicious activity near the skate park.

 

Saturday, Aug. 25

Caller on South Avenue reports that her neighbors are being loud and possibly under the influence. They have gone in the house, and the party is no longer going on. No need for the police.

Motor vehicle accident at Pleasant Street and Sunnyside Avenue. Both vehicles were towed by G&J. Female operator and female passenger with New York plates will be transported to MGH. One male party and the passion get are going to  MGH also. Vehicles involved have been towed.

Unit was flagged down by a male party on Neptune Avenue. He requested a well-being check on his girlfriend. Unit spoke to the female, and she is doing fine. She just wasn’t feeling well.

Female party and son were in the lobby for a child exchange. Female party notified us that the exchange was for 10 a.m. and the father called and said he would be 40 minutes late. Female party could not stay due to work and wanted this on record.

Member of the WFD walked into the station to report that he hit a parked motor vehicle near the Bank of America on Bartlett Road.

Caller states that kids are using vulgar language at Fort Banks Playground. She would like an officer to tell them to quiet down and to watch their language. No signs of any kids in the area.

Report of an outside party with music veery loud on Buchanan Street. Unit spoke to resident and the music was not loud. Unit advised them to be considerate of the neighbors as the night goes on.

Caller on Buckthorn Terrace, from previous call, would like to speak to an officer regarding the loud music. Unit spoke with the caller and explained the noise ordinance. He also advised her that he will drive by the house later to make sure the music is at a reasonable volume.

Party on Beal Street states that her rear neighbor on Ingleside has the music too loud and is having a party. Units spoke to the residents regarding the noise and advised them to keep it down. they were also advised about further action if they had to come back.

 

Sunday, Aug. 26

Report of unresponsive male on Shirley Street. WFD and EMS responding. Possible heart attack. 94 off with the party. Vehicle was towed by G&J. All WPD units cleared. Report to follow.

Motor vehicle accident on Main Street. Car into a pole. WFD andEMS responding. Tow requested. G&J notified. Pole 384 was damaged. Non-urgent. National Grid notified. Female operator was sent to MGH. National Grid will open a ticket and send out a crew. National Grid crew reports the pole is deemed to be safe and does not need any repairs.

Report of arcing wire on Bowdoin Street that started a fire. Town-wide power outage. National Grid was notified and will send a crew out. National Grid requesting two details.

Caller on Ocean Avenue states all four of his tires were slashed. This damage was already reported. Owner was advised as to what steps to take.

Officer on Revere Street was flagged down by a citizen to check the well-being of an elderly female walking down the street. Officer spoke to the female who is going to the Winthrop Marketplace and will take a taxi home. Female stated that she is feeling well and does not need any assistance.

Party on Shirley Street wants her boyfriend removed from her house because he stolen money from her. Police requested medical aid to the location due to intoxication for the male in question. Units advised the female of her 209A rights. Police advised the male party not to come back to the residence. Police state that the male party in question was extremely intoxicated and was transported to the MGH.

Caller on Main Street states that she is receiving threatening text messages.
