Winthrop Students Earn Academic Honors

Local Students Receive Bachelor’s Degrees from UMass Amherst

Approximately 5,500 students received bachelor’s degrees in over 100 majors at the University of Massachusetts Amherst’s Undergraduate Commencement on May 11, 2018 at the McGuirk Alumni Stadium.

ON THE HONOR ROLL AT BC HIGH

The following local students have been named to the Boston College High School Fourth Quarter Honors:

Daniel Reis 2019 and JamesEzekiel 2020 of Winthrop achieved High Honors.

Matthew Rudser 2019, Christopher Rodriguez 2020 and Aidan Cash 2021 achieved Honors.

For High Honors, sophomores, juniors, and seniors must have at least a 3.80 quality point average and all grades ‘”C+” or higher. Freshmen need a 3.6 quality point average and all grades ‘”C+” or higher.

For Honors, sophomores, juniors, and seniors must have at least a 3.20 quality point average and all grades ‘”C-” or higher. Freshmen need a 3.165 quality point average and all grades ‘”C-” or higher.

Boston College High School is a Jesuit, Catholic, college-preparatory school for young men founded in 1863. The school enrolls approximately 1600 students from more than 100 communities in eastern Massachusetts.

 

MOSLEY GRADUATES FROM UNIVERSITY OF ALABAMA

Rachyl Caitlin Mosley of Winthrop has received the following from The University of Alabama: B.S. Commerce Business Administration. UA awarded some 5,436 degrees during spring 2018 commencement May 4-6.

POWERS ON DEAN’S LIST AT MCPHS

Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Science (MCPHS) University is pleased to announce  that Joia Powers has been named to the Dean’s List for the Spring 2018 semester:

* Joia is a native of Winthrop and is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene. Joia will graduate in 2020 from the Boston campus.

The Dean’s List recognizes those students with a full-time course load who have achieved outstanding scholarship with a 3.5 GPA or higher for the academic term.

 

LOCAL STUDENTS ON DEAN’S LIST AT REGIS

Regis, a Catholic university in Greater Boston, is pleased to announce that 415 students have made the Dean’s List for academic achievement for the 2018 spring semester. The following students from Winthrop made the list:

* Caitlin Page of Winthrop, is among the students who made the Dean’s List. Page is class of 2019.

* Michael Bruno of Winthrop, is among the students who made the Dean’s List. Bruno is class of 2018.

To be eligible for the Dean’s List as a senior, junior or sophomore at Regis, a student must have a semester grade point average (GPA) of at least 3.50. For first-year students, a semester GPA of at least 3.25 must be attained.

“I am very pleased to see so many of our students excelling across the university,” said Vice President of Academic Affairs, Malcolm O. Asadoorian III, PhD. “The dean’s list and the diversity of academic disciplines speak to a dedicated student body and to a faculty that promotes intellectual curiosity and achievement.”

The School deans agreed it was particularly notable to have a strong roster of first-year students who made the list, which reflects both the quality of our curriculum and the caliber of students coming to Regis.

Regis is a leading Catholic coed university in greater Boston with more than 2,700 undergraduate, graduate and doctoral students in the arts, sciences and health professions devoted to engage, serve and advance in a global community.
