FAMILY DAY AT THE BEACH ON JULY 14

The Winthrop Chamber of Commerce invites everyone to Yirrell Beach from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. on Saturday, July 14. to celebrate the annual Family Day at the Beach.

Please contact the Chamber office if you would like to volunteer for the day at (617) 846-9898.

 

Music on the Lawn

The Winthrop Alumni Jazz Band is scheduled to repeat their fantastic performance of last summer on Wednesday, July 18, from 6-8 p.m. at the Deane Winthrop House. The band is led by Berklee College of Music Assistant Professor, recording artist and Winthrop resident, Dave Limina, on piano.

 

Summer at the Winthrop Public Library

The following announcements and events are from the Winthrop Public Library.

As a reminder, library summer hours are in effect until Sept. 1, 2018:

Monday 10 a.m.-6 p.m.

Tuesday 11 a.m. -8 p.m.

Wednesday 10 a.m.-6 p.m.

Thursday 11 a.m.-8 p.m.

Friday 10 a.m.-5 p.m.

On Tuesdays, we offer free basic computer help and assistance with library resources. Come by and work with staff on: basic computer skills, e-readers and mobile devices, web searching, email, library resources (Overdrive, Gale Databases, Ancestry.com, and more). Tuesday, July 17, 6:30 p.m. : AUTHOR TALK: Darryl Sarno

Winthrop resident Darryl Sarno has published the book, Special Airline and Aircraft Visitors:  Unique Airport Sightings of New England, which includes more than 150 photos and lists of unusual sightings at other New England airports.  Darryl has documented the arrival of many unique planes to Logan Airport over a 20-year period.  Come meet Darryl while he shares his hobby with us.  Light refreshments will be served.

Summer Concerts at Ingleside Begin this Thursday

Just Kill Me Rico will be kicking off the summer concert series at 7 p.m. on Thursday July 12, at the Ingleside Park gazebo.

Bring your lawn chair and come on down to enjoy great music in the park!
