Pamela Grillo

Longtime Vinfen manager

Pamela M. Grillo of Atlantic Street, Winthrop passed away at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston on March 22. She was 74 years old.

Born in Lowell, she was the beloved daughter of the late Mildred (Curtin) and William Decuyke. A resident of Winthrop for many years, she was employed as a manager for Vinfen, a department of the State of Massachusetts for special needs children.

She was the devoted wife of the late Thomas Grillo and the loving mother of Gary Grillo and his wife, Dayna of Winthrop, Kim Brennan and her husband, Pat and Tia Brennan and her husband, John, all of Everett, Frank Grillo and his wife, Rebecca of Swampscott and Thomas Grillo and his wife, Shirley of Everett; dear sister of William Staff of Lowell; cherished grandmother of Robert, Amanda, Olivia, Alana, Connor, Michael, Riley, Sawyer, Patrick and Casey and great-grandmother of Finn.

Family and friends are cordially invited to attend the visitation from the Caggiano-O’Maley-Frazier Funeral Home, Winthrop, on Friday, March 30, from 4 to 7 p.m. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home at 6 p.m. that evening. Peter Joseph McNeff

Longtime U.S. Postal worker

Peter Joseph McNeff passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, March 14 at his Seabrook, N.H., residence. He was 55 years old.

Peter was born in Everett, raised there briefly and the family then moved to Winthrop. He was a graduate of Simon’s Rock in Great Barrington, a private school where he matriculated quickly and was awarded an early associate’s degree. He continued on to Harvard Extension and pursued a curriculum in pre-law.

For over 33 years, he has had a constant career with the U.S. Postal Service at South Postal Annex as a mail handler. Within the McNeff family, several share the comradery of occupation, i.e., his brother Matt and his sister Maria also work for the U.S. Postal Service. He sought the outdoors and was an enthusiastic traveler and especially enjoyed boating, biking and other outdoor sporting events.

Peter moved to Seabrook, N.H., over 10 years ago.

He was the cherished son of Anne M. (Todino) McNeff of Winthrop and James V. McNeff of Somerville, the beloved brother of Matthew J. McNeff and his husband, David J. Russo of Watertown, Maria A. Hawkins and her husband, Russell of Burlington, Ind., Christina M. McNeff and her husband, David Bowles of Portland, Ore., and the dear uncle to Sarah E. McNeff and Keith R. McNeff, both of Winthrop.
