WHS Drama Society Gears Up for Dinner Production

By Kate Anslinger

Magic is in the air at the high school, as 22 students are preparing for the annual dinner theater show at Prince Pizzeria in Saugus. This year’s theme is “Do You Believe in Magic?” and as the title suggests, will consist of all songs relating to magic, including “This Magic Moment,” performed by Josh Boudrow, who recently starred as Dennis Dupree in Rock of Ages.

The show is made up of a lot of solos and dancing that is sure to include the audience members.

“I love this show,” said Boudrow. “I think it’s a much different atmosphere than the other shows. It’s strictly music and dance, and we are a smaller cast so we are a close-knit group. This year the dances are a lot more visually pleasing and go good with the songs. The cast is diverse with new solos.”

This is Boudrow’s second year performing in the dinner theater production. Having been involved in theater since the seventh grade, he has around 20 shows on his drama resume, and he doesn’t plan on stopping anytime soon.

“Dinner Theatre is my favorite show that WHS Drama Society does each year,” said Director and Choreographer, Jaime Montesano. “I was in this show when I went to Winthrop High and I was so honored when they asked me to take over this production 13 years ago. Picking the themes and songs is my favorite part of the process and these kids are so talented. Buy your tickets now because it sells out pretty quickly! “This Magic Moment will run January 22-25 (Monday-Thursday) at 7:00 p.m. The show will be held at Prince Pizzeria, 517 Broadway (Route One South) in Saugus. Tickets can be purchased for $15 by emailing whsdinnertheatre@gmail.com or calling 781-656-5890. Food and drink is not included in the ticket price.
