Christmas Services 

Christmas worship services at St. John’s Episcopal Church (corner of Bowdoin and Buchanan streets, Winthrop) are as follows:

Dec. 24 – 5:30 p.m. Family Mass and 11 p.m. Midnight Mass.

Dec. 25 – 10 a.m. Mass with carols.

 

Bring a light and shine it bright

While most of us have the freedom to celebrate the holidays with our loved ones, police officers, first responders, and firefighters can often be found tending to emergencies, waiting for a call that could potentially save a life, and patrolling the area so that we can all feel confident with the safety of our community.

In Winthrop, we are lucky to have firefighters and police officers who dedicate their evenings to bringing joy to the children in town. As in years past, both departments will work together to safely transport Santa around in a fire truck, for all to see.

If you want to show your appreciation and support of police officers, firefighters, and first responders, bring a lit candle and shine it bright while you are watching Santa go by. It’s one little thing that the community can do to increase the morale and show support to those who serve us all year long.

 

WMS Musicians TO Perform at Logan

This week, Massport officials are welcoming several local musicians and groups to perform holiday music for travelers. Performances will take place throughout Logan Airport. On Tuesday morning, students from the Winthrop Middle School Band performed at Terminal C. “We strive to make traveling during the holidays as easy as possible, and adding some holiday entertainment is the perfect way to lift people’s spirits during this festive time of year,” said Massport CEO Thomas P. Glynn. “We hope that the variety of performances will provide a calm and relaxing atmosphere for travelers.”
