Throughout the season, East Boston Savings Bank has been routing for the Sox to win. Not only because they are big fans but also for the children benefiting from the Jimmy Fund Foundation. With every Red Sox win East Boston Savings Bank has donated $100 to Rally for the Jimmy Fund. The Sox finished the season with 93 wins. This along with the EBSB’s internal employee opening day fundraising efforts supporting Rally for the Jimmy fund, Richard Gavegnano (right), Chairman, President and CEO of East Boston Savings Bank presented the donation to Andrew Cader, representing Dana Faber Cancer Institute during an on field event prior to the Astros Game.
“With the Bank’s $100 per win commitment and the generous contributions from our employees participating in the 2017 opening day Rally for the Jimmy Fund Challenge, the Bank and our employees contributed over $17,000 this year. The Jimmy Fund and Dana Farber Cancer Institute are committed to raising funds for adults and pediatric cancer care the needs of children. We are proud to support these great organizations.†said Mr. Gavegnano.
Prior to the on field presentation Mr. Gavegnano was interviewed in the Red Sox dug out by NESN’s Guerin Austin where he presented another $1,000 during the event and has announced that EBSB will continue with the $100 for each win during the playoffs.
