Howard Wallace Proctor

Of Florida, formerly of Winthrop

Howard Wallace Proctor of Lake Mary passed away at home on Thursday, Aug. 24 at the age of 65.

He was born on Jan. 5, 1952, in Winthrop, the son of Davis and Carolyn Proctor. In 1979, he married the love of his life, Pamela Kovacs Proctor, and the couple shared 38 years of marriage.

While in Winthrop, he was an active member of the Winthrop Elks Lodge #1078.  He spent many years in New Hampshire as a master mechanic and service manager.  Moving to Florida in 1987, he continued briefly in auto mechanics. Subsequent to this, he founded and became the owner and operator of A&J Pest Control. Howard was an avid enthusiast of boating, mechanics and sailing. While in Lake Mary, he was referred to as the neighborhood husband, as he was always repairing mechanical problems for the neighbors. He was an active member of the Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts, acting as one of the Assistant Scout Masters for Troop 543.

Howard is survived by his wife, Pamela and two sons, Adam and James Proctor, both of Lake Mary; his brother, Davis Proctor and his wife, Sue of Winthrop, as well as his sister, Diane Frazier and her husband, Billy of Greenville, SC. He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is now embraced with love by those who have passed before him:  his parents, Steve Morrell and Jessica Purtee.  His spirit and love will be carried on through our memories, spirits, and love for him forever. We hold his memories in our heart, our spoken words, and our selfless acts of kindness.
