Since the start of construction at Miller Field, the goal is to have it completed in time for the Thanksgiving Day game against Revere in 2017.
The project remains on track and September will be the busiest month yet for work.
Councilor James Letterie, who also co-chairs the Miller Field Committee, said there is a lot of behind the scenes work that people don’t see.
During the month of September, activity will increase. The foundations for the lights have been built.
Work on the field drainage system is also being completed toward the Veterans Road entrance. The drain work in the track area is also being down and excavation for the concession stand building.
“We’re starting to see it come to fruition,†Letterie said.
Letterie said the “home†bleachers will be delivered this month and on Sept . 21 they are slated to be installed.
Also the asphalt will be installed on the track. It has to cure for a time before the track material can be placed.
