The annual Strawberry Festival of the Winthrop Improvement & Historical Association is set for this Tuesday, June 19, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., at the Deane Winthrop House.
The festival is truly one of the most anticipated events on the Winthrop social calendar and is a sure sign that the summer season has arrived. As the advance press for the event states, the festival is “a quintessential, small-town gathering of friends, neighbors, and family members on a typically-beautiful evening at a location, the Deane Winthrop House, which means so much to all of us, both as Winthrop residents and Americans.â€
One of the treats is to see our town historian, David Hubbard, donning colonial garb and greeting guests at the event, which serves as the major fundraiser for the Winthrop Improvement & Historical Association, which is charged with maintaining the Deane Winthrop House.
Tickets at $5.00 per person must be purchased in advance and are available at the Public Library, Senior Center, Chamber of Commerce, Woodside Hardware, Brown’s Pharmacy, and Brothers Restaurant.
