Local Students Work with Governor

Governor Charlie Baker takes a selfie with Lt. Gov. Karyn Polito, District Attorney Dan Conley, Winthrop Police Chief Terrence Delehanty, members of the DA’s Youth Advisory Council, local students, including Julia Tracy, representing Winthrop, and other partners at Boston Latin Academy in Boston on Tuesday in support of a bill aimed at revenge porn, unwanted “sexting” among teens, and other offenses. The proposed legislation would provide prosecutors with a range of proportional charges and age-appropriate sanctions, from diversion to felony complaints, to address a broad spectrum of behavior. It was drafted by members of the Governor’s legal staff with assistance from prosecutors, victim advocates, and young community leaders.
