The School Committee is focused on searching for the best possible candidate for the one- year interim position that is expected to start on July 1, 2017. Over the next few weeks, the committee will be reviewing internal and external candidates and working diligently with community members, on a mission to make sure they prioritize what is needed and desired in a qualified candidate.
On May 2, those interested in the selection process are welcome to meet with Glen Koocher from the MASC (Massachusetts Association of School Committees). Koocher will be camping out at Winthrop High School for the day, and will be meeting with a variety of stakeholders during the time slots listed below:
Central Office Admins.
10am-11am in Central Office
Principals/Asst. Principals
11am-12pm in Central Office
HS Library for Drop-Ins
1pm-3pm
Faculty – Teachers
3:00pm-4:30pm in  HS/MS Library
Community
6:00pm– 8:00pm in HS/MS Library/Auditorium
Community members are welcome to drop in and share their concerns and recommendations from 1-3pm or during the evening session. This is an opportunity for folks to provide input on qualities and experience that they would like to see in the next superintendent.
