Ernest H. “Ernie†Duval of Winthrop passed away on March 14. He was 88 years old.
Prior to his retirement, Ernest was the manager of the Exploratory Packaging Dept. for the Gillette Corporation. He was a member of the Cottage Park Yacht Club in Winthrop where he was very active in the Men’s Tuesday Night Bowling League.
He was the beloved husband of Gloria M. (Farren) Duval. Born in Chelsea, the son of the late Leon A. and Blanche (Giguere) Duval, he was the devoted father of Michele M. Moran and her husband, Patrick of Wilmette, IL, John K. Duval and his wife, Catherine Rich-Duval of Beverly, Denise M. Duval of Winthrop, Paul J. Duval and his wife, Anne Jones-Duval of Lexington, Patrice M. Duval-Dorsi and her husband, Gerry of Winthrop and Tom E. Duval and his wife, Shari of Boxford; adored grandfather of 20 and great-grandfather of 14; dear brother of Leon A. Duval and his wife, Rilma of New Hampshire; two late brothers and two late sisters. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Funeral arrangements were by the Maurice W. Kirby Funeral Home, Winthrop.
A Funeral Mass in St. John the Evangelist Church-Winthrop on Wednesday, March 22 was followed by interment in Winthrop Cemetery (Belle Isle Section).
