Boncore Named Chair of Joint Committee on Housing

State Senate President Stan Rosenberg has named Senator Joseph A. Boncore Chairman of the Joint Committee on Housing.

“I am honored to chair this committee; it will be a great opportunity to work on the needs of both Greater Boston and the Commonwealth as a whole. With the continued rapid growth in the region housing stock, affordability and development are critical concerns for our communities,” said Boncore.

As rapid development continues in Greater Boston, the committee’s substance remains an area of top priority to the First Suffolk and Middlesex district.  It oversees all matters relating to public housing, housing production, homelessness, Chapter 40B housing, landlord-tenant matters, expiring use, and condominium laws.

Boncore’s legislative portfolio touches a wide range of policy priorities from criminal justice reform to health care and prescription drug transparency.  In addition to his chairmanship, Boncore will serve as the Senate Vice Chair on both the Joint Committee on Transportation and the Joint Committee on Transportation.  Senator Boncore was also appointed to serve on the following committees:
