Ernestine ‘Ernie’ Davie

Of Florida, formerly of Revere

Ernestine ‘Ernie’ Davie of Royal Palm Beach, Florida, formerly of Winthrop, passed away on December 12 at the age of 86.

She was the beloved wife of the late Charlie Davie, loving mother of Julie Quinlan and her husband, Ed, Jim Davie and his wife, Marcia and John Davie and his wife, Cheryl; cherished sister of Angela “Chickie” Sylvester and loving niece Sanda (Sylvester) Donovan. She also leaves six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

A Memorial Mass will be held on February 12 at noon at St. John’s Church in Winthrop

Angeline Powell

Of Winthrop and Revere

Angeline (Fotenakes) Powell of Winthrop and Revere passed away at the Don  Orione Home in East Boston on January 25. She was 89 years old.

Born in Boston, she was the cherished daughter of the late Charles and Jane (Pappas) Fotenakes; devoted mother of Jane E. Martel and her husband, David of Revere; adored grandmother of Charisse

Bruno of Revere; loving great-grandmother of Jade and Amber Aguilera; dear sister of

Stella McGettigan of Philadelphia. PA. and aunt of Sean, Kevin and Terry McGettigan.

Gail Turner

Of New Hampshire, formerly of Winthrop

Gail M. (Sbrizza) Turner of Dover, NH, formerly of Winthrop, passed away on January 25 at the age of 64.

She was the beloved wife of the late Gerald L. Turner; devoted mother of Kerri Owen and her husband, John of Lakeville, MA, Jeremy Turner of Danvers and the late Gerald L. and Ryan M. Turner. Born in Boston, she was the cherished daughter of the late Louis J. and Janice M. (McCormick) Sbrizza; dear sister of Louis J. Sbrizza Jr. and his wife, Debra of Rochester, NH and Russell Sbrizza of Dover, NH, and the late John, Janet and Joan Sbrizza and step-daughter of Paulette J. Sbrizza of Rochester, NH. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Funeral arrangements were by the Maurice W. Kirby Funeral Home, Winthrop. A Funeral Mass was held in St. John the Evangelist Church-Winthrop on January 31. Cremation after the Mass was private. For guestbook, please visit:

Robert Levesque

Retired GE engineer, former Winthrop Youth Hockey Coach, and longtime member of Winthrop Elks

Robert L. Levesque of Winthrop Street, Winthrop passed away at the Wakefield Center in Wakefield on January 31. He was 83 years old.

Born in Ware, the beloved son of the late Irene (Gagon) and Germaine Levesque, he was a resident of Winthrop for over 59 years and worked as an engineer for General Electric for many years. He was a longtime member of the Winthrop Lodge of Elks and a former hockey coach with Winthrop Youth Hockey. He loved going to the camp in New Hampshire with family and friends as well as his boat and beloved dog, Chere.

He was the devoted husband of the late Lelia “Lee” (Battista) and the loving father of Robert M. Levesque of Winthrop, Joann Vargus of Winthrop, Paul Levesque of New Hampshire, Judy Scott of Florida, Denise Epifania of Winthrop, Karen Raffaele of Whitman and Rachele Kakles of Medford; dear brother of the late Charles Levesque; cherished grandfather of Ashley, Michael, Janelle, Amanda, Jennifer, John, Alyssa, Felicia, Bella, Angelo and Timothy and great grandfather of Luke.

Family and friends are cordially invited to attend the visitation from the Ernest P. Caggiano and Son-O’Maley-Frazier Funeral Home, Winthrop on Monday, February 6 from 4 to 8 p.m. The funeral will be conducted from the funeral home on Tuesday, February 7 at 9 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in St. John the Evangelist Church, 320 Winthrop St., Winthrop at 10 a.m. Interment to follow the mass in the Belle Isle section of Winthrop Cemetery.
