Golf Senior Night Was Quite an Event

We had the honor of being invited to the Winthrop High School golf team’s Senior Night dinner Tuesday at the Winthrop Golf Club. The golf parents rolled out the red carpet for the six seniors and the other members of the team who enjoyed a buffet dinner, a special congratulatory cake, and homemade cookies.

We’re so fortunate to have a golf course right inside the town — and directly across from our sparkling new Winthrop Middle/High School — that allows boys and girls to participate in the wonderful sport of golf at a young age.

WHS head coach Peter Lyons has done a magnificent job leading the WHS program. Peter is an avid golfer — in addition to his professional position as a pharmacist and proud graduate of the esteemed Massachusetts School of Pharmacy — and he has helped advance the skills of his players on the team. Peter is also a certified basketball official who referees college basketball.

Anyway, it was a great atmosphere at the Winthrop Golf Club and we thank the golf parents for this wonderful farewell to the seniors on the team who represented our school well in competition.
