TED REINSTEIN RETURNS FOR LIBRARY TALK

Ted Reinstein returns to the Winthrop Public Library on Tuesday, October 18 at 6:30 pm.

Reinstein has been a reporter, producer, & anchor for WCVB’s Chronicle. He’s also an actor & author. Ted will discuss his newest book, “Wicked Pissed: New England’s Most Famous Feuds” and sign copies if you’d like to purchase one. Always interesting, always entertaining, organizers are excited to have Ted return to his hometown. If you haven’t met him yet, don’t miss out. Free program, sponsored by the Friends of the Winthrop Public Library. No registration required.

FALL FAIR AND CRAFT SHOW AT INGLESIDE PARK

A Fall Fair and Craft Show will be held at Ingleside Park on Sunday, Oct. 8 from 11a.m. – 3 p.m.

There will be train rides, amusements, pumpkin patch, pumpkin painting, pony rides, moon bounce, games, food, entertainment. Craft Tables spaces are available (tables not supplied) Vendor space is available. $25 per table (must provide own table) Register at the recreation office. Rain date is Oct. 9

 

CURB and SIDEWALK WORK ON WINTHROP STREET continues

Curb and sidewalk work will be taking place on Winthrop Street between Jefferson and Revere Streets. The curb and sidewalk work is expected to take approximately one month and will be immediately followed by the asphalt work. On Friday, existing cement sidewalks will begin being removed and prepped for new cement. During preparation and construction of new sidewalk, on street parking will be restricted between 7 am to 4 pm and will remain this way until completion of work. A police officer will be on-site during this work to direct traffic and to assist residents and patrons to and from homes and businesses.

VETERANS FOOD BANK IS OCT. 5

The next Veterans/Families Food Bank will take place on Wednesday October 5 at the American Legion (next to Town Hall). Pick-up is from 10:00-11:30 am. If you are new to our Food Bank, then you must pre-register with Veteran Services. For more information call the Veterans Service office at (617) 846-3065.

RECOVERY ROCKS

September 24 between 1-4 PM, CASA will host a Recovery Rocks Event at Ingleside Park that will feature a celebration of recovery through comedy, art, and music. Individuals in the recovery community are encouraged to attend and share what they use as an outlet to promote their own recovery. Food donated by various community partners including Blackstrap BBQ.
