VISIONING MEETING SET  FOR TUESDAY

A Winthrop Center Business District and Middle School Vision meeting will be held Tuesday, June 28 from 7-9 p.m. at the Winthrop Senior Center, 35 Harvrd St., Winthrop. We’re continuing the conversation about how to improve the center business district and repurposing the middle school. Call Joe Domelowicz at 617-846-1852 x1013.

 

TICKETS FOR GYPSY AVAILABLE

Tickets for Gypsy are on sale via the Playmakers’ website, www.winthropplaymakers.com and can also be reserved via the box office line, 617-539-1175. Performances are Saturday June 18, Thursday June 23, Friday June 24, and Saturday June 25 at 8PM and with matinees on Sunday June 19 and Sunday June 26 at 2PM at Memorial Hall at Winthrop High School, 151 Pauline St, Winthrop MA.

 

READING SPECIALIST TO SPEAK

Dr. Kelly Farquharson, a Winthrop resident and highly regarded speech language pathologist, assistant professor and director of the Children’s Literacy and Speech Sound Lab at Emerson College, will speak at the Winthrop Public Library on Thursday, June 30 at 6:30 p.m. Sponsored by the Friends of the Winthrop Public Library.

 

FIREWORKS ON JULY 3 HERE

The Winthrop Fireworks Committee is excited to continue the long tradition in Winthrop of bringing families, friends and neighbors together. The Fireworks display will be held on July at dusk and would not be possible without our sponsors, donors and supportive residents. One hundred percent of the expenses for the Fireworks display depend on donations. The fireworks committee appreciates your consideration of becoming a  partner in making this year’s festivities a success.

The Winthrop Elks Brings ‘Em Home Committee has started the sale of the annual raffle tickets for a 3 night /4 day stay at Waterville Valley. Raffle tickets are selling for $5.00 each – some exclusions apply. Proceeds from this raffle will benefit Winthrop Elks Brings ‘Em Home and the Elks Adopt-A-Vet Program.

Tickets are $6 and must be bought in advance. They can be purchased at Woodside Hardware, Webster First Federal Union, The Senior Center, The Chamber of Commerce, Brown’s Pharmacy, Winthrop Marketplace, Salon Luxo and Winthrop Public Library.
