CENTER BUSINESS DISCUSSIONS MARCH 3 AND MARCH 7

Please join Town Councilor Russ Sanford and Assistant to the Town Manager Joe Domelowicz on: Thursday, March 3 at 6 p.m. at the E.B. Newton Cultural Center or; Monday, March 7 at 9 a.m. at The Winthrop Center Café when they will be available to meet with residents and business owners who have questions or wish to raise concerns about the planned Centre Business District and Old Middle School Master Planning Process.

The purpose of these forums is to provide information about the upcoming planning process and gather feedback from the community.

WCAT TO AIR LIVE CALL-IN SHOW TONIGHT ON NEW FEMA FLOOD ZONES

Elliot Whittier Insurance will sponsor a live special edition of Community Forum with Ron Vecchia on Thursday, March 3 at 7 p.m. The live call in show is being presented as a public service to the residents of Winthrop who have questions regarding the new FEMA Flood Zone maps, which take effect on March 16, 2016. Residents are asked to call 617-846-3400 starting at 6 p.m. with their names and location in order that the EWI staff has proper time to research their location on the new FEMA maps.

WCAT staff will call back the residents and they will be allowed to ask questions on air regarding any change in status regarding the new flood zone in their area.

Elliot Whittier Insurance is sponsoring the program as a public service and will answer as many questions as possible, however residents are urged to contact their own insurance agents with specific questions regarding their specific needs.

If you own property in Winthrop you may have questions about the impending flood map changes that will take effect on March 16, 2016. This is a great chance for you to ask questions about how these new flood maps may affect you and what you can do ahead of time to save money on flood insurance.
