Supporting Rigas

Dear Editor:

In 2014, voters sent a clear message that they wanted common-sense reforms that will make Massachusetts great. Now just over a year later, Governor Charlie Baker and Lt. Governor Karyn Polito are already fulfilling many of their campaign promises.

The next few years represent a unique opportunity for the Massachusetts Republican Party to capitalize on this momentum and grow our Party from the grassroots. Governor Baker has given us a template: focus on fiscal discipline, deliver results, and pursue reforms that expand opportunity for everyone.

That’s why I’m supporting my friend Laura Rigas, who is running for Republican State Committee Woman in the March 1 election. She is honored to be the only candidate in this race endorsed by Governor Baker, Lt. Governor Polito, Senate Minority Leader Bruce Tarr, and Revere City Councillor Anthony Zambuto, among others. The Republican State Committee woman from the First Suffolk and Middlesex District is charged with organizing the GOP including in Revere, Winthrop, East Cambridge, East Boston, Beacon Hill, the North End, and Chinatown.

It’s time we end the one party rule on Beacon Hill and Laura has the national, state, and local political experience to grow our Party from the grassroots: starting with attracting new members to our Party. We can welcome new members to our Party by echoing the Governor’s positive message of lower taxes to create jobs; great schools for every child through expanded school choice; and common-sense reforms that make government more accountable to taxpayers.

Laura helped organize the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), the largest conservative event in the world, helped create the first grassroots/campaign training for women by women at the Leadership Institute, and personally trained hundreds of men and women leaders and candidates.

We have the most popular Governor in the country supporting Laura, and I urge you to do the same. We ask for your vote for Laura Rigas on March 1 for Republican State Committee.
