Speaker in the Front Row

We watched with much interest Mayor Martin Walsh’s State of the City Address and it’s clear that the mayor has some excellent ideas to help Boston to continue to prosper in the year ahead. The ability to bring the General Electric Company to Boston was certainly a tremendous accomplishment for the Walsh Administration — and for the Baker Administration as well.

We noticed that Speaker DeLeo had the best seat in the House in the front now, taking his place alongside Lt. Governor Karyn Polito and Senate President Stanley Rosenberg, with Gov. Charlie Baker just one seat away. We remember Bob serving on the Board of Selectmen more than 30 years ago and it’s wonderful for Winthrop residents to see Bob enjoying his role as the leader of the 160-member House of Representatives and his status as one of the most powerful public officials in the Commonwealth.
