Parking at the New Winthrop High School/Middle School

How refreshing it is that the School Building Assistance Committee are working diligently on parking and traffic patterns for the new Winthrop Middle/High School that will open for the 2016-17 academic year. The new school building will bring additional traffic in the early morning and early afternoon hours to the area. Having a comprehensive plan in place on the first day of school would be welcome by all. The fact that the committee is doing its homework eight months in advance of the new school opening says a lot about why the SBAC has been so successful in its planning and development of all issues relating to the new school.

We’re sure that Police Chief Terence Delehanty and Fire Chief Paul Flanagan are continuing to weigh in on all the traffic, parking, public safety, and security issues associated with the new school so that Winthrop students, teachers, and parents can expect a safe and smooth traffic flow when the doors to the new school open this fall.
