We offer our congratulations to Robert “Rob†Noonan, chief of public safety at the Mass. Convention Center Authority, who was honored by Governor Baker at the State House for his work in thwarting an attack at the 2015 Pokemon Convention at that major convention facility in South Boston. Noonan received the Governor’s first-ever High Five Award. Noonan’s ceremony was attended by Speaker of the House Robert A. DeLeo, a former colleague of Rob’s father, Attorney Robert Noonan, on the Winthrop Board of Selectmen in the 1980’s. DeLeo was especially proud of Rob Noonan, having watched him grow up into an outstanding quarterback and scholar-athlete for the Winthrop High Vikings and now excelling in his position at the Convention Center.
Also at the ceremony was Rob’s wife, Megan (Tallent) Noonan, and his aunt, Tricia Noonan, who both took great pride in Rob’s accomplishment.
