We know the high school sports season is approaching when Winthrop High School golf coach Peter Lyons announces that the tryouts for the 2015 season are approaching. Lyons welcomes all students to try out for the team Wednesday, August 26, at 9 a.m. at the Winthrop Golf Club. We understand there are some talented players returning to this year’s team and with some new additions, the Vikings should be in contention for a Northeastern Conference title and a strong showing in the state tournament.
