Virginia Grimes

Of Melrose, formerly of Winthrop

Virginia Grimes of Melrose, formerly of Winthrop, died June 27. She was 89 years old.

She was born July 8, 1925 in Winthrop, the eldest daughter of Frederick and Millicent Tolman. She married Walter Grimes in December of 1983.

She was predeceased by her husband, Walter, her sister, Jacqueline

McNally; brothers, Jimmy and Fred (Pal) Tolman; brother-in-law,

JohnW. Cude and nephews, Steven Cude and James Bouley. She is survived by her sisters: Barbara Cude of Brunswick, ME and

Patricia Erickson of Peabody; nieces and nephews, Scott, John, and Donna Cude; George and Jeff Erickson, Susan Trudell, Julie Allain

Andy, William, and Lisa McNally; Billy and Jimmy, and Diane Tolman, her cousin, Jean Livick and by many great nieces and great nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, July 9 at the

Brackett Funeral Home, 29 Federal Street, Brunswick, ME. In lieu of

flowers, donations can be made in her memory to the Wounded Warriors

Project, PO Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas 66675. Memories and

Charles James Davie

Former Winthrop Police Officer

Charles James Davie of Royal Palm Beach, Fl., passed away on June 17. He was 85 years old.

He was a police officer in Winthrop and moved to Florida in 1979. He was a member of Amvets, Elks, F.O.P.A lodge # 50 and the K Of C.

Charles is survived by his loving wife, Ernestine (Ernie) Davie; sons, John Davie and his wife, Cheryl, James Davie and his wife, Marcia and his daughter, Julie Quinlan and her husband, Edward; six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Alvin Davie and his sisters: June Hunt and her husband, Herschel and Betty Dillinger and her husband, Dud.

He was laid to rest at Our Lady Queeh of Peace Cemetery with The Rendering of Army Honors. Those wishing to make an expression of sympathy, are asked to consider making donations in his memory to Hospice Of Palm Beach, County, 5300 East Ave. W.P.B. Fl. 33409.
