RPM Fitness Road Race May 31

We remember well the leadership and excellent play of the Hamilton boys, Phil Jr. and Rob, for the 2006 Super Bowl champion Winthrop High School football team. With James Fucillo at quarterback, Matt Murray in the backfield, and Phil and Rob, and other stars shining on both sides of the football, the Vikings delivered a Hollywood-type finish for coach Tony Fucillo in his final season as the Vikings’ coach.

Phil Jr., who went on to play college football at St. Lawrence University, is the general manager of RPM Fitness. And if you are a high school or college athlete in Winthrop, you know all about the great work being done by Marie Hamilton and her staff in preparing athletes physically for college athletics and beyond in some instances. So many of our high school athletes have enhanced their opportunities to play college sports because they have dedicated themselves to regular conditioning and training sessions under Marie’s supervision at RPM Fitness. Two of the many athletes who train at RPM are Mark Hamilton — who is the son of Marie and Phil Hamilton Sr. and who plays Division 1 hockey at Maine — and Chris LeBlanc, who plays Division 1 hockey at Merrimack and was drafted by the Ottawa Senators.

RPM Fitness is branching out and will be hosting its first-ever road race on Sunday, May 31 at 9 a.m. The 3.5 mile race starts and finishes at RPM Fitness and all the proceeds are being donated to Survivors by the Sea, a local cancer support group that provides assistance to patients and families in times of need. RPM Fitness welcomes runners of all ages for their inaugural event. We hope the community will support this worthwhile endeavor.
