Farmers Market Returns on Sunday

The Winthrop Farmers Market at French Square returns on Sunday, September 7 from 11am to 3pm. This week the market will feature produce from local farms, craft vendors, live music and food trucks.

With only two more Farmer’s market planned for this season, the volunteer organizing committee is urging residents to get out this weekend and support the market.

Among the farms that will be present this week are Silverbrook Farm, Windy Ridge Farm, Brookford Farm, Oakdale farm, Chickadee farm and Hackleboro Orchards.

The September 7 market will feature some of the more popular craft and retail gift vendors from our previous markets, including Merrill Frank Pottery, Jangles Jewelry, Chloe + Isabel and local artist Dawn Mahoney and for all the hair cutters, quilters and chefs both professional and amateur, National Sharpening Co. will be on hand to hone your tools.

In addition to the craft and independent vendors, participants can choose from a wide array of prepared foods such as Matt’s Amazing Smokehouse and Patty’s Guacamole, as well local independent retailers selling hand designed jewelry, clothing, gifts and more.

A popular part of this year’s markets has been the addition of food trucks, so come out and enjoy crèpes from food truck, Benny’s Crepe Café or real New York Style Deli from Evan’s Deli Truck, while listening to local musician Jonathan LaMaster and his band The Dinghies.

The Winthrop Farmer’s Market at French Square Committee continues to pursue 501(c)3 non-profit status, but will operate with the assistance of the Viking Pride Foundation for the remainder of this year.
