According to town officials, the new Resident Permit Parking Pilot Program has been a great success in its first month of operation. More than 1400 resident stickers have been distributed with only six or seven complaints.

Winthrop resident Michael Trovato was given a hero’s welcome upon returning home after serving for 15 months of duty in Iraq with the Army’s First Armored Division.

Winthrop Parks and Rec. Department Director Sean Drtiscoll announced this week that the department will begin offering after school and before school care for children in elementary grades beginning in September.

The Winthrop Arts Association’s Art in the Park events are being held on Saturdays in French Square.
