Francis Rattigan

Retired Boston Firefighter

Francis B. Rattigan of Quincy Avenue, Winthrop passed away at the Boston Medical Center on July 17. He was 74 years old.

Born in Manchester, New Hampshire, he was the beloved son of the late Rosetta (Lamb) and John Rattigan. He enlisted in the United States Navy, served for over two years and was honorably discharged as an EN3. After his discharge, he went on to become a Boston Firefighter.
He was the devoted husband of Wanda (Sarnacchiaro) and the loving father of Frank B. Rattigan and his wife, Cheryl of Plymouth, Cheryl Pettijohn and her husband, David of Wichita Falls, Texas and Kristina McGoff and her husband, Shawn of Plymouth; dear brother of Dolores Lee of Braintree, John Rattigan of New Hampshire and the late Brad Rattigan, Janice Mayhew and Kevin Rattigan. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
His funeral was conducted from the Ernest P. Caggiano and Son-O’Maley Funeral Home, Winthrop on Tuesday, July 22,  followed by a Funeral Mass in St. John the Evangelist Church. Interment followed the Mass in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne with military honors.
