All we can say is congratulations to the Winthrop Lodge of Elks on the beautiful new look of their function hall that was the site of the Chamber of Commerce Legislative Luncheon Monday. The hall looks a lot different that we remember it from years ago and the large windows leading to the outside deck really give a rich seaside feel to the atmosphere. We noticed the two large televisions in the hall and what a great spot it would be for a Super Bowl party or even a Patriots’ playoff game or Sunday night football game.
The Elks Lodge is supportive of so many causes in the town and we always enjoy the Winthrop High football banquet that is held there annually. The Elks made a huge investment with the extensive renovations that took place and, looking at the end result, it’s a great place to hold a function. We’re certain that the Elks’ leaders and membership couldn’t be more pleased with the decor and ambience of the new hall. The Elks’ Hall has been a landmark facility in our community for more than a century, and we look forward to it continuing to be a huge asset to the people of Winthrop for another 100 years.
