A Big Step for the Town: Economic Development Plan Is Much-needed

The energizing of the Winthrop economy and the rejuvenation of the Winthrop Center business district have been priorities for Town Manager James McKenna and his proposal for a full-scale economic development plan — which was unanimously approved by the Town Council Tuesday night — was a huge step forward for Winthrop.

McKenna understands the challenges associated with a running a small business and he has set down the groundwork to help these businesses stay and prosper in the town. McKenna also wants to stimulate tourism in the town — and that’s a key aspect that the economic development plan will address.

James McKenna has been a visionary since taking office and this economic development plan will be another sound investment in the future of our town.
