The special election to fill the Congressional seat that was vacated by our long-time Congressman, Ed Markey, who now is our U.S. Senator, will be held Tuesday.
The contest pits Democrat Katherine Clark, a state senator from Melrose who is a graduate of Cornell University Law School and Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government, against the Republican nominee, Frank Addivinola.
Clark ran an active campaign in Winthrop in the Democratic primary and is continuing to do so for the final election. Donna Segreti Reilly, who is well-known to local residents, has been heading-up the Clark campaign in Winthrop, where Senator Clark garnered an impressive primary vote.
We urge all voters to make sure to get out and vote Tuesday. With the endless political turmoil in Washington, this is an important special election that will have significant national implications that affect all of us.
