The Town of Winthrop and Massachusetts General Hospital are working together to conduct a community health assessment. The goal of the health assessment is to engage the community in creating a comprehensive picture of Winthrop’s overall health and a plan to improve it. Over the next two months, data will be collected from those who either live or work in Winthrop through surveys and meetings. In the spring, this data will be reviewed at a community forum where residents will have a chance to help prioritize issues and develop a plan to address them. A final report detailing this plan will be shared with the community in September, 2014.
The survey takes about 10 minutes to complete, and the answers applicants provide are anonymous. This means that identifiers are not linked to the answers in any way. To complete the survey, go to www.town.winthrop.ma.us and click on the red “Quality of Life” Survey. or, pick up a hardcopy of the survey at the Health Department in Town Hall, the Winthrop Public Library, or the DeLeo Senior Center.
