Winthrop Police Chief Terence Delehanty has confirmed that a Winthrop Auxiliary Police Officer was arrested by the FBI, Winthrop and Revere Police Departments on Thursday, October 3. The arrest came after a lengthy investigation into the activity of Auxiliary Police Officer Bledar Naco. The Department became aware of Naco’s activity when other Law Enforcement sources informed Chief Delehanty that Naco was allegedly distributing drugs in uniform and out of an Auxiliary Police cruiser on several occasions.
Chief Delehanty stated “I am relieved the investigation ended in Naco’s arrest and without incident. I am grateful for the collaboration of our Federal, State and local partners.†Naco was arraigned in Federal District Court on Friday and held pending a Detention Hearing at federal Court.
