Richard Honan Celebrates 40 Years: Local Businessman Has Been a Fixture with the Chamber of Commerce

That’s a nice story and old-time photo in this week’s Sun-Transcript saluting Richard Honan on his 40th year of membership in the Winthrop Chamber of Commerce. Honan has operated the Richard Honan Sign Company for 41 years in this town and his efforts in helping people in the community are noteworthy. His “Supporting the Troops” program in which he has brightened the lives of Winthrop men and women who have served our country overseas is much appreciated by the families of our Winthrop servicemen and women and the soldiers themselves.

Richard Honan’s faith in the Chamber of Commerce and the fact that he supports all the activities of the Chamber speaks well of the business organization itself. When Honan says that the Chamber has never been stronger than it is today under the leadership of executive director Eric Gaynor — well, that praise carries the weight of someone who has been a member for four decades.

It’s clear that Richard Honan loves this town and that the customers at his sign company recognize his talent and professionalism in running his business at 66 Crest Avenue.

Here’s to the next 40 years, Richard, and may you continue to enjoy your membership in the Chamber of Commerce.
