Superintendent of Schools John Macero has received from the Winthrop High School Principal Selection Committee the names of the four finalists for the position.
The four finalists are Eileen Belastock, assistant principal of King Philip Regional High School in Wrentham; Michael Hashem, supervisor/director of mathematics, technology and engineering for the Saugus public schools; Timothy McCarron, math, science, and technology high school principal at Lawrence High School; and Edward Rozmiarek, headmaster at Lowell High School.
Site visits to the schools of the four candidates will be conducted Monday and Tuesday. The following week the four candidates will visit Winthrop High School and meet with the staff before being interviewed individually by Macero.
Macero said he will make his choice for principal in mid-April.
Current WHS Principal Gail Conlon has announced that she will be stepping down from the position at the end of the school year.
