Anna Rose Carbone
Of Winthrop, formerly of East Boston
Anna Rose Carbone of Franklin Street, Winthrop passed away at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston on March 11 after a brief illness. She was 90 years old.
Born in East Boston, she was the beloved daughter of the late Marie Vincenza (Miranda) and Vincent Oliva. A resident of Winthrop for more than 80 years, she was a member or the class of 1940 East Boston High School, St. John’s Mother’s Club, Dominic Savio Parents Group, St. John’s Misselman Drum & Bugle Team, member National Square Dancers Association and member and President “Lancers” Square Dance Club, Danvers.
She was the devoted wife of the late Gaetano A. Carbone and the loving mother of Victor A. Carbone of Winthrop, Marie Cammarata of Salem, New Hampshire and Guy A. Carbone of Winthrop;Â the dear sister of Vincent Oliva of Groveland, Bruna Oliva of Reading, Mario Oliva of Lynn and the late Angela Scarpa, Guy, Bart and Dante Oliva; cherished grandmother of Laurie, Anna-Rose, Joseph and Michael. She is also survived by eight great grandchildren.
Her funeral will be conducted from the Ernest P. Caggiano and Son-O’Maley Funeral Home, 147 Winthrop St., Winthrop today, Thursday, March 14 at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass in St. John the Evangelist Church at 10:00 AM. Walter Bostrom
Of Winthrop, formerly of East Boston
Walter F. Bostrom of Winthrop, formerly of East Boston, died on March 11.
The loving son of Lillian (Flot) Bostrom and her late husband, Walter N. of East Boston, he was the devoted father of Traci  Bostrom of Chelsea and Brian of Winthrop; dear brother of Geraldine “Dolly” Natale of New Hampshire, David of East Boston, Marie Catanuso of Billerica, Richard “Dickie” of Revere and Darlene LoNano of Tewksbury.
His Funeral will be held from the Ruggiero Family Memorial Home, 971 Saratoga St., (Orient Heights) East Boston on Friday, March 15 at 9 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial in celebration of his life at Sacred Heart Church, Brooks Street at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visiting hours are today, Thursday, from 4 to 8 p.m. Services will conclude with burial in Woodlawn Cemetery. John Walsh
Of Hadley, formerly of Winthrop
John B. (Jack) Walsh of Hadley died on March 5.
Born and raised in Winthrop, the eldest son of the late John ‘MJ’ and Evelyn Walsh and brother of Robert B. (Bob) Walsh of Winthrop, he was a 1953 graduate of Winthrop High School.
